Hessian wedding decor

Hessian and lace theme with gold and pink as a colour scheme.

We had a sit down meal for friends and family of about 50 people and this is how I decorated the room..

Chair sashes with lace design, easy to use and really added to the look rather than plain white chair covers. (Amazon for £1.99)

Table runners had the same design as the chair sashes with the lace on the hessian. Very thick material really matched well with the chairs (Ebay £7 each). You could select different lengths depending on your table size. We also added a few retro games to the tables to keep the guests occupied.

Hurricane vases for the centre peaces (The Range £4.99) decorated with lace trim around the top for effect with some wooden hearts all form a craft shop. The gypsophila flowers round the bottom sat in a circle oasis.

Favour boxes filled with sweets.. again hessian string to match the rest of the table decor.. (Ebay £5 for 50 boxes)

Place name tags printed online (Ebay sellers can do this for you). I wanted them on the napkin to save room. However people take them off and tie them to their glass after the meal to keep tabs on their drink.

Something for the children..

Party bags (from Ginger Ray) filled with little toys and sweets. We used Lego sets, colouring bits, bubbles, cars, dinosaurs, teddies and dolls the options are endless.

Table plan was printed just like the place cards by another Ebay store. I got a cheep frame that had a hessian background and used string with little pegs to hold all the cards on. This isn't the picture of ours bit it was very similar.

Guest book again was a Ginger Ray purchase. We had gold and silver glitter pens next to it to fill it in. I liked the idea of a kids guest book too for them to put their own stamp on things.

For top table we had fresh flowers in boxes with candles mixed in (not on the table yet in picture) with the table runners and place names and favour boxes. Lanterns each side of the table we filled with tiny white flowers just loose inside. The white lanterns on the floor we got form IKEA. "Just Married" banner pinned to the front of the table (Ebay £10). We also added fairly lights for the evening time (Primark).

The Sweet cart a friend of ours set up and kindly filled with delicious sweets. However you could do a sweet table with jars and filling them with sweets. Scoops are Ebay and all the bunting and paper sweet bags to fill up

The cake again was made by a friend of ours. Ribbon and cake toppers from Ebay. The cake toppers also a nice keep sake.

We numbered our table with hessian fabric tags from Ebay they didn't take up loads of room on the tables.

You might be wondering what I did with all of the decorations after....

I waited for all the beautiful photos form the photographer came through such as some form this post, then I used sights such as Gumtree, Ebay, Shpock to sell them off. I found people would turn up to collect the items and if I set all the other decorations out nicely for them to see they ALWAYS left with more than you came for.
